is tracking the storm. erin mcpike is live in kansas city. we'll start with you. >> we're seeing snowfall two inches an houreer. very windy, looking at winds up to 30 miles per hour later today, and also, soledad, because of the snow last week, there is still a lot of heavy snow on branchs and power lines, snapping power lines, and lots of power outages throughout kansas city. we just got off the phone with kansas city power and light. they have doubled from 10,000 to 20,000, those numbers will go down, right now they can't get out on the road to repair the power lines. we're looking at power outages in texas. another 10,000 no oklahoma. the storm looking to be worst than last week, soledad. >> a little bit of a mess. thank you very much. appreciate that. let's get to jennifer delgado. where is this all going? >> soledad, right now, it's actually right on top of the midwest. you saw the live shot where erin is out of kansas. kansas city, taking a beating right now. coming down very good along interstate 70. toward the east in st. louis, a break from the heavy rain, of course, that will be wra

. some four years later, ex-governor sanford's running for congress. erin pike with us from washington. does mark sanford believe south carolinians are ready to forgive him? >> reporter: he acknowledges he made a serious mistake but is using the commercial to turn the pa page by asking voters for a second chance. he's reminding them he's known for being fiscally conservative. he's trying to shift the focus of the race to that record. his consultant told cnn because he's such a fighter, he's going to work to get either vote he can. because sanford is the most well-known candidate in the race, his campaign says anything sanford does will suck up all the oxygen in that race. his political team expects that voters will either vote for sanford or against him but not in favor of anyone else. sanford is running well ahead of them and almost certainly will make the runoff that's two weeks later. >> well, nice to see what happened to sanford has not undermined the ego of his political team. but he is going to be running against somebody who is more high-profile and that is the sister of comedia

canada shares the huge concern with nuclear erin perspective. we need that to be beyond iran's support upper terrorism, their human rights record, the threat of a nuclear iran is the biggest threat to pieces and security, and i appreciated your strong comments on this. i share the view that a diplomatic solution is possible. we support the p5 plus one initiative. we support sanctions against the iranian regime. we want them to change course and rejoin the international community. we had a good discussion as well with respect to syria, and i think concern of all of civilized humanity, the terror horrors going on and the huge challenge and problem of chemical weapons. i appreciate the chance to talk about human rights and our strong commitment to working to support and defend freedom around the world. the fight against international terrorism is the great struggle of our generation, and we are strong and solid partners with the united states. :26 on this tuesday, february 12th. i'm erin gilchrist. learning new information on the breaks news out of college park. mufrd murder of three students. megan mcgrath live now with more. >> reporter: well, aaron, the shots were fired here in the front yard of this home on 36th avenue and the shooter committed suicide in the backyard. you can see here the neighbor's vehicle here. this suv. the rear window shut out. this bizarre murder/suicide began to unfold at about 1:00 this morning. this house is, there are three university of maryland students who live here. around 1:00 in the morning, police say that one of those students started a fire in the basement. he was confronted by his two roommates. as they were fleeing the house, that third roommate opened fire. one of the students was killed. the shooter then went to the rear of the house and committed suicide. all of this still under investigation. we'll have the latest coming up later on our shows. reporting live in college park, megan mcgrath. back to you. >>> a l >>> good morning. sunshine today, a bit of a blustery winds. highs low 50s. tomorr
